In April, we had a beautiful sunset evening at a riverfront park along the Potomac River for this maternity photography session in Northern Virginia. This location is one of my favorites for maternity sessions with families because there’s a variety of spaces to choose from – fields with open space to run around and play, hiking trails to walk through, and a sandy beach with the most beautiful large rocks for dramatic maternity photos.
I’ve put together a detailed location guide that I launched this spring and am so excited to share with my clients! This location is included in my guide and gives more details about best time to go, what to expect, and things to consider when choosing the right location for your photography session with your family. If you’re on the fence on which location to pick for your session, let me give you some suggestions to help meet your vision.
For this session, this family of four (about to be five!) was so excited to be welcoming home a baby brother in the coming weeks. The girls were so full of energy and had a great time running around, playing, and twirling in the field.
I saw them again for the newborn photoshoot with baby brother a few weeks later, so look out for more to come on when they welcome the newest addition!
